I have my home theater and a 12" sub about 10' away from the tank. I've noticed no ill effects. However if you were to extend the period of time the bass is vibrating through the water, I would say its like having a loft above the concert hall of AC/DC

Funny you'd ask..... mine is in an open room where I have my drums set up.... doesn't seem to be a problem

Too funny guys... ! I've been playing off and on for about 20 years now.... never in a band, but a few inpromptu gigs... I actually jammed with Harlequin at a pub night at Mount Royal College in '89 when I went to school there.... I have a 10 piece acoustic kit that's in storage... (Ludwigs).... but about a year back I bought a set of Roland TD8's that I can play at 3 AM if I want to, and I haven't looked back... looking to hook up with some guys to jam with and maybe do a Zeppelin review band one day... music style? ZEPPELIN! *Actually anything that rocks is good to me*

That's awesome reeferaddict.

I'm 19 and have been playing for 6 years. I started off with a boring, basic Westbury 5 piece kit ... but recently bought myself a brand new Mapex Pro-M kit (5 pc.) I love the sound of the mapex.. and the tom sizes I chose are perfect.

I would love an electronic kit.. but the price tag is crazay! (for me) Maybe one day..... they are too cool... you can pretty much customize every bit and piece to the way you want.. I used to fool around with one at the local music shop where I took lessons almost everytime I was in.

I am not in a band myself.. as I plan on going back to school soon, but I definitely will be looking for one in the future, and have hopes to take my music to the next level... I would love to make a career out of it. One love, right? that's my drums lol

Back to the original post....... (sorry  )
