Salinity monitor (no need to calibrate)

Just wondering does anyone have one and what do they think of them. How accurate are they.

Cheers

Are you referiing to a refractometer or the Pinpoint salinity monitor. I have both, anything you want to know in particular.

Pin point

I have both, love the pin point. Always checked with both for a while and now just use the pin point.

The PinPoint is ok, but I prefer the refractometer. The Pinpoint still requires calibration and needs a 53ms solution standard to calibrate. I got messed up once when the standard I bought was way off throwing off the calibration of the monitor. I found the Pinpoint to be very sensitive to stray voltage, pretty much have to take the sample away from the tank or the lights, pump causing the display to jump around.
