It looks like a sick purple LTA. :confused:

I agree with Deb's guess. Purple LTA, but unhappy. If it survives, what size tank is it going in because LTAs get huge. When mine is fully expanded, it can reach 14" across. :eek:

lol of course its unhappy, it was in the middle of acclimating during the shot. I doubt any sea animals are happy to be moved from their homes :razz:

he is pretty big... maybe 8" across, he is in my 20g..... had to get a new lta, last one decided to take a stroll into a filter intake, twice :eek: .

What type of lighting will you keep it under? I had mine for a year & a half under 96w PC & 2 T5s in a 33g but it is sooooo much happier now under 150w DE MH.

I think it had lost its symbiotic algae but it is now eating & slowly recovering quite well :biggrin:

I have one..........I originally had it in my display tank but it climbed into two different powerheads and got really beat up. I now have it in my 30 gal eel tank. It has been in there since April under PC lighting and is doing fine. It didn't seem to like the brighter MH in my large tank and kept going for a walk to a shadey spot. Since it has been under the pc's it is still bright in colour but hasn't gone walkabout. (yet)

i've got a 250watt mh setup. here's a pic of the old LTA (RIP). I have since put foam over my aquaclear and fluval intakes...

your lta's are pretty nice... Ireally like the purple in this guy. I acclimated him from 8pm - 1130pm, he is in the tank now.. my saddleback has found him :biggrin:
