Need Video Making Advice

Chad's great video has inspired me to see what kinds of videos I could make, but I need some advice.

Have an Olympus C-5050 that makes movies in the .MOV format. Have cobbled together a short movie using Microsoft Movie Maker, but it has its limitations, the first being that I have to convert the .MOV format to .wmv format.

Need advice as to which video making software folks are using and why, as well as any format tips you can provide. Am hoping to go software shopping later today or tomorrow, so all suggestions are welcome

If you have any on-line video making software suggestions, please provide links.

Here's a quick sample what my Olympus can do. Comments are welcome...

TIA

For help to convert any format checkout

for editing I use Vegas video by sony, its a little costly but there might be a free trial version. The full version is out there, but you either have to buy it, or use the "other" means which i would never recomend. ;)

Not much more I can supply to help you. I use a pentax Optio camera and Windows Movie Maker as well... I always just convert to what I need it to be, with progs found on

I love your video tho!

Went out and bought Pinnacle Studio v.9 this afternoon and downloaded file conversion software. Also got a huge supply of rechargeable batteries and and 512 MB disk for my camera  So I'm set, baby  Can hardly wait to learn the program and make some cool videos

Have a lot of great ideas and music. The world is my oyster  Think I'll have to take a trip to Patagonia for some penguin watching....
