spots on clown fishes

My 2 percs have black spots on them. Thay seem to be fine and the spots are not bumpy. Look more like dots.

Anyone see this before?

Ivy's clowns are like that too. Did you get yours from J&L also? Might be that shipment had this genetic mutation?

black dots?? are your clowns rubbing up on zoos or any other corals? I know that this will definitely leave black spots.. not a bad thing though, don't worry.. they do get stung from zoos and possibly other corals (because they try to host them...)

Yes, I've seen this before. But I don't know what it is. I was given a clownfish from someone that had black dots all over it. It came from a 10 gallon tank with PC lights and no skimmer and some surface scum. In my tank, the fish's black dots have gone away over time. I can't tell you why though. The difference is that my tank is skimmed, has a hosting anemone, and the fish has a varied diet.
