mixing salt for water change

since I recently (5 mins) broke the heater I use to warm up my water change water, I was wondering if i could just mix the salt up in the cold water and add it really slow to my tank, ie: drip method,
???

how big is the tank, how much are you changing and how cold is cold?

40 gallons total volume....
4 gallon water change.......
and the water change water temp is @ 60

60 is kinda cold, but as long as you add it slowly while the tank is mixing, you should be fine. By slowly I mean over about 15 minutes or so...

I only do that in my sump the return rate is slow so I add the water and the take out the old stuff, it is so slow that I can fill my pail before the 5g is back in the tank.
