I have a couple small green patches(a little fuzzy not growing like grass) and in by the glass/sand simular to when i had brown stuff on the glass.

sounds like hairy algae. maybe. i dunno, anyone else have an opinion? try not to let it get out of control, it can be a pain in the butt, but a couple of trochu snails will inhale it, or some astrea snails. dunno if ceriths eat it or not. i mainly saw my trochus eat it.

enough rambling from me.

Not enough info. Brown stuff? Do you mean brown algae? How long has your tank been up and running for? Almost sounds like the green patches are a filamentous algae stage of "New Tank Syndrome" you are going through. Just as the "brown stuff" is a part of "New Tank Syndrome", and dies off, so too will the filamentous green algae. Provided this is what it is and you keep the bio-load low as the tank matures.

I have snails they don't bother with it. It sits just on top of the sand and when you try to move it ( using a baster)everything around it move and it stays together. there is some between glass and sandbed the tank has been running for 9 mths +

Haven't got a clue what it is, but if it's in a clump, just remove the clump (sand and all) in such a manner that the powerheads don't scatter it all over your tank.
