Mag 5 on a Aqua C Remora Pro?

Has anyone got a Mag 5 running on their Aqua C Remora Pro.

How is it? Too much power or just right.

I think the Mag 3 that is recommended is a bit weak.

I have one and it still doesn't perform as I would like it to. I would like to try a Mag 7, but I still think you'll need to get a "real skimmer" which is used in sump or recirculating.

That is my next purchase

Yep, that would be nice. But I would need a sump and I am still too uneasy about it given that I live in a condo on the top floor. When I have a basement with no one below me I will go wild!

Im running one as well. It is a step up in flow but you might have to beef up the connections to keep the pump from blowing off and redistributing tank water to the walls.

Also if you are running the associated pre-skimmer/bubble trap box you might have to slice the foam pad on the return side in half to reduce restriction. Otherwise the return water will overflow the return box.

HTH.

Thanks for that info. I think I will try the mag 5 out.

Out of curiosity, how much tubing do you have from the pump to the intake? Is your pump sitting right at the surface?
