Smoking snail
 

Might as well post the first pic and get this forum started. Here are a couple of pics of a Margarita snail spawning in my tank. Every month or so it seems I will notice that almost all of the snails will be within the top two inches of the tank just before lights go off (actinics were only on in these pics)and a chain reaction sets off. There were at least a dozen others that were 'smoking' this same night.
