emerald crab

Well last night i had a healthy emerald crab and tonight he was laying on the bottom (dead) legs up and looking the same color as coroline algea I have had it for a few months and no problems the only thing is i can say that was different with the tank was the temp it went to about 82 ish and i threw in a frozen shrimp for the local store last night as a treat for all.

I had something like this a couple months ago when i lost 3 zebra crabs
same situation minus the temp problem due to me not having lighting.

any suggestions ??

is it possible that the shrimp is causing an ammonia spike?

You are sure it wasn't a shed ? The sheds look very much like the real thing with emeralds. I was convinced it was the dead crab, until it reappeared all shiny and new.

I agree... the molts can look just like dead crab... did you take it out and examine it... but maybe it just died :frown:
