fixing a crackred tank
hi all. just looking for some advise on fixing my tank. i have a 90gal with a cracked bottom,i was thinking about just laying in a peice of 5/8 glass just big enough to fit over the cracked one and reseal it  is this a good idea or has any one done this before
your help is greatly appreciated  |
I have seen this done but its risky no guarentee the crack wont spread
the whole bottom is cracked corner to corner, i'm thinking of insted of removing the bottom glass just cover the whole thing with a new piece and reseal it to it
You would still need to right size and thickness, so you might as well do it properly. 90g of salt water can make a mess of your floors.
If its cracked edge to edge it will leek thru the crack and you have to replace the whole bottom
do you mean take the whole bottom piece out and replace it,or replace the whole tank
replace the bottom piece. Or have a shop do it for you.
thanx for your advise every one

With the american dollar being what it's worth our LFS up the street has 90 gallon tanks for a song.. 72 gallon for $120 or some crazy price.
