MH turning on and off
 

For some reason, my MH has been turning off periodically throughout the day. It turns off at least every hour for about ten minutes and then turns back on again on its own. Any ideas?

maybe your ballast is overheating? is it in a ballast box to help dissipate the heat? maybe try aiming a fan at the ballast and see if that helps.

The ballast is an Electronic Ballast and is right beside the other ballast. The other one is fine. I'll check it tomorrow for heat though.

Jason, swap bulbs and see if it still happens to the bulb or the ballast setup.

i had the same problem. my ballast is tar style, it turn off half an hour in every 2to3 hours. after i put a long piece of aluminium under the ballast, the problem gone. so i think you can do that same thing or use a fan to keep blowing on it.

also helps to run MH on their own circuit in the house :D
