Stocking a 65g FOWLR

Well, it's getting closer and closer... Wished it had been running by now, but life always gets in the way of fish stuff.

Looking for some stocking idears for the new (formerly to be predator) tank. Setup is a 65g (36x18x25), 33g sump with refugium and probably a modified coil denitrator.

Currently there are 2 known to be residents... A snowflake eel, and a flame angel. Also pondering a Lemon peel, and a flasher wrasse. I'd love to hear some other peoples suggestions as to possible residents - Really looking for some nice colorful active fish.

Andy i dont know about the ell and the flame unless you get the flame first and it's alot bigger then the eel.

And may be a Bi color angel or a Koran angel and a huma huma trigger , along with a dwarf lion in there and a yellow tang.

I agree, I think you should stick with the larger fish for eel tankmates.

If I was doing a FOWLR I'd start with a pair or group of heniochus.

Lionfish or a panther grouper?

"NO" Ryan not a panther Grouper you know how big they get
The dwarf lion maybe like i stated, I would scap the eel. I'm not to kean on the eel thing .

but its just my opinion.

12 inches right for panthers? I seen one in an aquarium in a public aquarium and they said it was full grown.

Provided you don't add any rock at all.

Actually even though I didn't know it at the time I first read it... I really like Cpt's idea.

A pair of banner fish would be one of my favorite thoughts for stocking, but with the eel, 2 banners, and an angel - that's a pretty hefty bioload.

There also seems to be some debate as to how much tank space heniochus need - Seen sizing ranging from 50-120g as "minimums".

Ryan (of taber)
