raising salinity

hi, what's the best way to raise my tanks salinity?
adding salt water for evporation?
water change?
currently my salinity is 1.021.
what range should i raise it to?

Adding a bit of salt water when it's evaporating is a good way because it will increase it slowly...but keep an eye on your salinity to make sure you don't go to high...Personaly I keep salinity at 1.025

I agree adding some salt water as evaporation happens is perfect. Aim for 1.023-1.025 I keep my tank at 1.023

The best way that i have found was having is set up as a drip with a small tub. What i did was use a laundry tub that you can buy at super store with a handle it will hold around 4 gallons.

Take it drill a small hole in there and glue it will silicone and then have a line run from there with a small T valve to control the flow. Then make up some salt water around 1.050 and have it set to drip and at around 1 drip every 3-4 sec's and then check it daily.

This is the most effective way that i have found and it works.

Lets not get caught up on the exact salinity levels, you keep yours at 1.023 I keep mine at 1.026 to 1.027. everyone has a different reading they like. also depending on how you are measuring your 1.023 might realy be 1.027 depending on the temp.

I raise mine my mixing a concentrated 1 gal mix. in my tank every 2 cups of salt I put in will raise my SG by ~0.001 (50 cups in 100 gal of water makes 1.026. so 0.26/50= 0.00052/cup so 2 cups = 0.00104)

so lets say my salinity is down at 1.023 and I want to bring it up to 1.025 then I know I need to use 4 cups of salt desolved in 1 gal of water. I only move my salinity by 0.001/day though so it would take me two days to move it to 1.025

Do you have a sump? When I need to adjust mine I just add a cup at a time to the sump slowly over a day and keep measure.
