new tank question
 

hey all,

i'm just starting the journey into marine tankdom and have a question. i've got a 25g tall tank and have added aragonite, 20lbs of live rock 2 powerheads and a protien skimmer (bakpac)...oh yeah, also a ac 500 for added circulation and soon to be refugium.

question is...it's been up for about a week or so nitrates are 0 but i'm starting to notice a fair bit of detruis gathering on the sandbed. does this normally get sucked up on waterchange day or do critters normally take care of it? should i be looking into using some sort mechanical filteration? is this just the result of normal die-off?
