300g Starphire Room Divider

Welcome all  Yet another Manitoban to the list. Glad I found this site.

Just wanted to share my new tank setup that is in the works.

Well after loosing my 240g tank from an accident. More info on what happened can be viewed here http://reefcentral.com/forums/showth...&pagenumber=11

I have been planning my new tank a 300g 96" X 24" X 30" room divider viewed from 2 sides separating the dinning room and living room. Both 8' viewing panes of glass will be Starphire glass. Tank will have no overflow box going with 2 2" bulkheads for surface skimming.

Tank will have a closed loop ran from a GenX PC55 with 2 educators for the returns. Sump and all pumps will be in basement. Return pump from sump will still be my old pump Gen X 18000 4750Gph.

I will be updating this thread as the build comes together.

Jayson was telling me about your ordeal. Holy crap, that sucks! On the positive side, always a good excuse to upgrade.

are you going to try the epoxy again using seran wrap on the bottom first?

No I'm going to use either Starboard or thin Acyclic sheet on the bottom then the epoxy sand bed on top. I will apply the epoxy on the sheet outside of the tank then drop it in after it has cured. Not going to take another chance on doing it inside the tank without anything on the bottom.
