Need an Id on this coral. When it dies the skeleton is blue.

Oops, forgot ,Blue Ridge Coral Latin name is Heliopora sp.

Yes, if the conditions are right. Mine also came in as a hitchhiker on some rock, about the size of a matchhead. Over the years it has developed into about three colonies, one the size of a football.
