PFO fans
Anyone used the PFO fans? For $35 w/wiring they seem like a good deal.
I'm wondering about noise...? http://www.jlaquatics.com/cgi-bin/sh...no=pfo-pmcfan4 Walter |
Those will be noisy. They are unregulated. They however I think they are AC so will plug right into a wall socket.

computer store $10 for 2 4" fans
value village $2 for old alarm clock = power supply $12 = cool tank = happy reefer   |
I have 2 running on my system, they came with my retrofit kit. They are large and powerful. Simple plug and play off of ac power. I do agree that you can probably find cheaper but these work great.

I guess I was looking for simple solution. I had thought about using a power supply from a computer, but I didn't relly want another bulky item. I'll look into 120v fans from Princess Auto...

You can buy 120VAC --> 12 VDC transformers from Princess Auto. I bought some a little while ago and they were about $3 each. You can hook these up direct to the 12VDC computer fans.

man I am having a bitch of time find transformers. Seems no one has them at the moment. Even princess auto :(
Anyone seen any around? |
hey I just bought a set of these.......
http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...:B:EOAB:CA:203 Or I should say the 120mm size Good feedback on the noise level too |
Yup I bought the 4" 3/4 fans from the same ebayer. Great fans work well not too loud, just plug and play. great service too.
Keep it simple stupid and that's what I did....... well at least with the fans. can't go wrong with these guys. I went to radio shack and it would have cost me double to get one fan ( and it didn't come with anything ) than it would have to get 2 fans and the ac adapter and cable etc from this ebayer. Good deal IMO. |
