car audio buff

is there anyone here that works in a stereo shop or something rather and can offer me a solution to buying a cd changer for my vw golf from the vw dealership or running an aftermarket one. I understand there are "adapters" so you can control the cd changer from the stock head unit?

it's a 2003 vw golf.

Thanks!

Dude I have a 2004 VW GOlf and I bought the Phat Noise from VW....$50 more then their cd shuttle($570) It is basically an MP3 player and can store about 500 cd's(4000 songs)(20gig hard drive) and it works awesome!!

oh oh, where'd you get the rca adapters for your amps?

KrazyKuch 02-28-2005 04:53 AM

They aren't done through RCA's cause VW decks don't have them....I had to splice onto speaker wires to get the signal for my amps!!!

Invigor 02-28-2005 04:54 AM

yea, but didn't you use a converter for that?

I am confused if you are using the hole signal from the rear speakers then are you runing a crossover or just a bass amp. I would think that that would also suck the porer from the rear speakers. that seems like it would take some fine tuning on the deck and amp to get that right.

Splicing into the wire wont really effect the rear speakers, its just sharing the signal not taking the power, the power would have to be supplied by an aftermarket amp most likly to power the subs. I love my car audio, i sold my system 4 months ago, and today just started buying another.

No converter needed....my amps have inputs for it....as do all amps!

and it doesn't take any power from the speakers it just samples the signal and then boosts it for my Subs
