falled pump suction cups and RTN?

My pump fell in my tank, and its path of flow somehow ended up directly on my Acropora. Its now pretty white on one side, which I'm assuming to be RTN.

How do I frag whats left of my favorite coral? HELP HELP HELP HELP!!!

This is not how I wanted to start out my Monday!

If it is RTN, try to frag the remaining part of the coral about 0.5"-1" above the RTN'd tissue.

What could have happened is the pump ripped the flex off of the acro if it was blowing directly at it.

I think thats what happened, is that still RTN though?

I've never fragged at thing in my life, how do I go about doing this?

rtn??

RTN as I know it, usually starts from the base up, but I'm sure it can start from anywhere really.

It probably isn't RTN, but it could start just from the stress of it all.

To frag it, take some pruning shears and cut like you are trimming plants back.

The "whitness" is right at the base, but at the same time thats were the flow was going.

Woudl it be okay after I frag it to leave the white part in the tank? Just to see if it recovers?

It is probably just colateral damage, from the high water force blowing the tissue right off the skeleton. Don't think it is RTN. just my 2 cents

BlueTang, what would you suggest that I do? Frag!

bluetang 02-07-2005 03:50 PM

Hard to say. Maybe give it a day or two and see how the coral does. if it looks like it streesing out and loosing more tisue.. then frag frag frag. hopefully you will save some of it. Any pics of the damage?
