Computer needs a defrag.

Whats the best program to use to defrag your computer. I don't really like the built in one with windows.
I know there is quite a few computer gurus out there. Hopefully a few of you can help me out.

I've always used norton speed-disk without any problems. The built in windows one always gave my computer problems in the past.

Diskeeper by Executive Software is an excellent product. You can run the program in the background and it's a lot faster than the one built into windows.

I think what Invigor is implying is that defragging rarely has any noticeable effect on a computer's performance. A format is really the best way to solve recurrent problems.

Try Diskkeeper....

Bob -> Isnt that the way Invigor replies to most posts

I agree with Teevee on this one totally. Windows dragger works good and when you have problems it is time to clean out the junk by reformatting and reinstalling.

Thanks for the input everyone!

I tried "O&O Defrag" and man that took a rootin' tootin' long time...
(About 35 hours or so... )
On the plus side it seemed to do a pretty good job considering it hadn't been done in a year or two. I think I will check out that DiskKeeper though.
