http://www.canreef.com/photopost/dat...C-458F-med.JPG
Best pic I could get.About the size of a pea and retracts when touched. Is this a glass anemone, and is it bad? |
I have that same thing in my tank under a rock! Mine gets real big and only comes out at night.
almost looks like a small pink tip byt the tips of the tenticles definatly a anemone though. Not an aptasia.
Corynactis sp. or Psuedocorynactis sp. I always get the two mixed up. One is wee and one is not so wee. They will spread somewhat but they don't really like the light so you usually only see them come out at night. I have them too, they don't hurt anything. I'd let them be.
definately not harmful to the tank. They come as hitch hikers on rock you may have bought in the past. They are an anenome but they are ok.I cant remember the name.I have lots of them. Its not aptasia though those guys are nasty.I just had a bought with them and took me a few days to get rid of all mine.I burned them out with Kalk mixed with vinegar into a paste and injected the aptasia to get rid of it.
Wow it's kinda cool looking wonder if it ever gets any bigger!!!
Nope they stay the same size. And they spread too.I never bothered with mine I must have atleast 50 of them all over my rocks.I think they look nice and they arent harming anything. And from what I learned from other reefers out here in Nova Scotia that it was ok as everyone has them.
Could be a Mojano anemone.
Nah majanos look like little bubble tips from the pictures i have seen.
I've had 2 or 3 of them on my rock for about 2 years now. They've never multiplied and they've never moved. They are pretty neat to see though.
