Cloudy tank

Ok I added salt to my 50g last night and when I got up this morning it was still cloudy. I was just wondering how long will it stay cloudy for, and how long to wait before getting some live rock

Is this a new setup?

IME, the more water movement you have, with a temp of about 78, the water should have already cleared. What kind of salt are you using? Did you thoroughly mix the salt in the water, or just dump it in and mix it a bit?

bear27 01-08-2005 05:50 PM

Yes this is a new setup and yes i dumped it into my sump then mixed it with my hand the temp is 79 and i have 1800gph (mag 18) in a 20g sump feeding a 50g aquarium

If you have already added sand, it could take days for the water to clear, but it you only have salt and water, I agree it should have cleared by now.

Ok that must be it then,I did add the sand first, is it ok to add the live rock while its cloudy or should I wait

Delphinus 01-08-2005 10:32 PM

The rock should be OK to be added now.
