well New tank New pics.
well my tank is pretty much new sence the melt down. I had a heck of a bout with hair algae along the front of the tank (bottom and front 1/2 of the rocks) it was about 4" long and solid, I mean you couldent see the rock through the weeds. after 2 weeks of constand attack by the snail herd and the achilies tang it is reduced to 3 or 4 tufts now and they are dissapering also.
here is the tang, and you can imagin that pic all you see is the brown algae that is just a couple tufts now. (yes thats a tunz in the far corner on the bottom. http://members.shaw.ca/crystalk/24dec04/achilies.jpg Bali coral (keeps getting more blue as it goes) http://members.shaw.ca/crystalk/24dec04/balli.jpg The following are frags I got from Brad in a effort to try save some of the coral that wern't doing good (and to save a couple that were doing good while he trys to fix his tank) http://members.shaw.ca/crystalk/24dec04/bluefrag.jpg http://members.shaw.ca/crystalk/24dec04/monti.jpg http://members.shaw.ca/crystalk/24dec04/slimer.jpg http://members.shaw.ca/crystalk/24dec04/tankend.jpg for thoes curious on how a bare bottom will look, this is 1 week sence the algae was removed from the bottom and you can see the coraline starting already. http://members.shaw.ca/crystalk/24dec04/barebottom.jpg and one of my 3 cleaner shrimp, two hang out under the overflow behind the reef but this guy likes to be out front and center. http://members.shaw.ca/crystalk/24dec04/shrimp1.jpg Steve |
How does one know if a piece is Bali aquacultured or something else? Just ask the vendor??

 I meant to put that comment in response to your new purple acro in the Bali aquacultured thread. Not sure how it ended up here! Sorry about that. But yeah thanks for the info. A plug should sure be a tip-off that's aquacultured. But is there something special about Bali aquacultured, or is it just that Bali is where a lot of aquaculturing is happening right now?
BTW, nice pictures. Really nice tang. I've always wanted to try one of those too some day but I've been chicken to try it. |
