RBTA damaged by powerhead

My RBTA got sucked up into my intake of my rio600 RVT. 1/4 of it tentacales were chewed up. The remaining tentacles look good and don't look stress. I owuld of thought it would go through shock of some sort, as sentitive as they are. I think the best thing to do is to take it out of my tank. But once it untangled itself it is anchoured to a really big piece of live rock that I can't take out. Any advice? I knew I should have placed a guard on the powerhead. I just didn't think it could get sucked up in the middle of the tank.

It should heal. If it's attached to a rock then leave it be.

I had the same thing happen to mine a year ago. but it didnt make it. Try running some carbon to buff the water and just to be sure the dead bta material doesnt foul anything up. Just my two cents

I will see what happens. It looks like the RTBA is moving deeper in the rock after day 2. Bluetang. Looks like I am just following your footsteps everything kinda poetic since I am using your old tank, canopy, skimmer and rocks.

Hello,

Carbon is good. But depending on water condition, you may want to change water too. Can't tell. You said it's only a small portion so maybe it's not too bad.
