cycle?
i have had this serious algae bloom in my tank , parameters seem ok , all with specs... is this a sign of a tank cycle ? if so , will this pass? tank is a year old

I thought you mentioned that you just bought this used. If so, and if you took it apart to move it, it's essentially a new tank. So then yes, you'll get a cycle. And if you lost a fish recently, that will contribute nutrients that will fuel alage.

IMO.
A tank will never stop CYCLING there will be something to get it going back to the beginning. SO when a person says my tank has finished cycling  Think again I now that when i moved my 280 gal tank into a 75 gal tank, I had a small cycle. and the SB hardly was bothered. Mike |
thanks guys... rack that one up as a dumb question

Even a large water change can cause a new cycling effect, and algae blooms to occure. One more reason to make subtle rather than drastic changes to a reef tank.
