I'm using the algae reactor from J&L (link below) and the light was on 24 hours due to I didn't have a timer for it. In addition I wrapped tinfoil around it to direct the light back into the unit. I'm going to reduce the light to 12 hours and see what that does this time around.

Sweet! I have been considering one of these bad boys. The only thing I heard is the acrylic cracks on the reactor itself. Maybe take a look at yours under the tinfoil. I would be interested especially after running for 24 hours :smile:
