Super Reef octopus External Question
 

HI All, IN the diagram located here:

I am wondering what the little valve is located at T on the diagram. It says automatic drainage system. There is nothing to describe it in the instruction manual, what is it's purpose? I have run this skimmer for a while and wondered what I could use it for.

Its there to drain it so you can lift it

That's all it's for? LOL

it automatically drains for me since the pump is hooked up down stream. if I shut it down it drains.

I thought this could serve some other purpose.
