Is anyone set up to rear fish?
My Pair of Zebra Dartfish spawn pretty much every month or so, and guard their cluster of eggs in a cave. Every now and again if I'm up late I'll see little things hanging around the moonlights, and my cardinal has a field day eating them, I'm assuming they are the zebra dartfish larvae as I don't think I have anything else spawning. I can always attempt to catch them if someone wants to give them a shot? Or advice on how to raise them. |

I'm not too sure if that would work as those have some sort of transfer system in and out of the tank right? The larvae are perhaps the size of baby brine shrimp and would probably end up back in the tank. But thanks for the idea and offer. Would probably also need to feed them rotifers but unsure where to source those.

Yea it uses a small power head and pumps water up ans waterfalls back out. It hase dividers in it and also a little screen area to prevrnt stuff going back into the tank. Its small but could work. And what about pods or plakton at first?

That looks cool, breeding boxes have certainly come a long way.
Those gaps still look way too big in the dividers for the larvae. Copepods would be too big for them to eat, as would new hatched brine shrimp. Probably rotifers or algae. Might set up a 10g only 1/4 full with an airstone and see if I get anything to live past a day. |
