LF glass brace for 90gal tank.
I bought a 90 gal off a forum member a year ago and the top brace was cracked. Didnt notice until later.
Tried a few places to get a replacement black trim to no avail. JL suggested that I get a piece of glass cut and silicone it into place. Does anyone have suggestions of how/where to do this in the lower mainland BC? Cheers. Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk |
As JL said, get a piece of glass cut, the width, length of your broken centre piece.
Use silicone glue to marry the two pieces. I just bought some glue (not a glue if you believe the propaganda) from can tire. I have not used it yet, so can't give a review. But it is what I would use in your case. Repair the crack with this glue, then repair it again using jL'S suggestion. http://notaglue.com If you need help, pm me |
Its not so much the center brace, Its the whole top trim should probably be replaced.
I'm thinking eurobrace? |

Eurobrace would then work for you |
Everyone says "glue" but u need to use pure silicone or it will be a wasted effort. Any glass shop can cut what u need. I wouldn't try to remove old euro....that is a painful process. Just "laminate" new and old together.

Siliconing glass to plastic is not a good idea. Doesn't hold up very well.

4 strips. 2x 48" in the front and back and 2x on the sides in between. The question is how wide do they have to be? |
3"
