Any one know where you can get these? I think there main purpose is farm use , horse troughs and such? Looking for 150 -200 gal size.

Thanks

ufa

I have a 100g as my sump

They are about a buck a gallon!

Thanks. How do you think it would do as a extra sump & frag grow-out tank?

They are quite tall.
The 100g one I have is 4 feet long and about 24" to 30" tall.

The 150G one is the same height but 2 ft longer. So as a grow out tank you would have to have a shelf built into the container to raise the frags up. I like a glass tank better IMO.

I think your right glass would be better. Trying to kill two birds with one stone. I need a big storage tank to place my corals, life rock and water when I set up my new tank. Most likely just use a bunch of garbage cans that I can return when I'm done.

frag tank

The other big disadvantage is ... have you ever tried to illuminate a black walled tank? With no reflected light it will eventully eat up all of the potiential savings on the stock tank in wasted watts.

I am sure there are lots of 50 gallon tanks sitting idle that could be had for cheap...

Have you ever seen one of those emergency blankets? they come in a box about 3" by 2". I think they are made of plastic and they are extremely reflective. You could line a stock tank with that stuff cheaply, but be sure that any metallic nature of the product wouldn't be problematic in some way.
