found this little nudibranch in my tank... must of came in on a coral.. about .5 inch long
was wondering if it's reef safe or not ????

caught it with it's nose in one of my zoa's,,, not too sure if it was dining on it or if the zoa thought it was food...

thx

Im not posative, but i was under the impression any nudis with cool colors are usually not reef safe. If it was my tank I would take it out just to be on the safe side. They can do alot of damage in a short period of time if it is not reef safe. If you really wanna find out put it in a qt with a few zoas and see what happens. But my guess would be it isn't reef safe.

looks like a zoanthid eating nudi. Check all your zoas , make sure there is no eggs I had them and they can wipe out colony's fairly quick . thats why its important to dip all new corals. I guess the coral rx dip does not kill them it will just stun them so go over the colony/frags with a magnifying glass to make sure you knock the eggs/nudis off. there is also a post reefwars made on reefcentral I believe that covers this

It's a zoa eater

It is a zoa eating nudi. Dip your zoas. Coral RX will kill the nudis but not the eggs.

Colby

These guys are awesome to keep for fun, I remember whatever Zoa color I would feed them. Their frills would change and morph and become that color. However yes, definitely dip and inspect for eggs as they can multiple fast and destroy huge zoa colonies in no time.
