Kessil 160 WE's - Will they grow LPS?
 

Hey! I was interesting in preordering some from JL but wanted to know first if they could grow LPS? Nothing super insane, i have a 4 foot long 75 gallon but i just wanted to grow most softies and LPS - not worried about SPS.

I am sure they will be able to provide sufficient lighting for most LPS but with that said, not all LPS have the same lighting requirements, you will still need to do some research on each individual spices. For example Blastomusso will require low to medium lighting while Euphyllias will take medium to high light.

Neat! Do you think for the LPS that require med-high lighting requirements would be fine if i just put them up higher in the tank? I really, really love the foot print of the 160WE's..and i feel like if im not going to be putting 360WE's @ >50% theres no point in getting them when i can just run the 160WE's > 50% . Also the money savings :)

They will be fine, medium light should be sufficient for most of the corals we would like to keep. I am not gonna deny when it comes to anything to do with my reef the bigger the better. You can always turn it down if you get the A360w but you can't turn the 160 up....:twised:

If it ever gets to that pt ill upgrade and sell the 160's ;)
