Time for a new heater
 

I've finally come to the end of the dozen or so heaters left over from all the tanks. Mostly Ebo's that have been exploding as of late.

What is the best recommendation these days?

I have an old ebo jager and two ehiems. Mine are working flawlessly.
Touch wood.
Are yours partially out of the water?

I've tried several brands over the last 25 years and they all weren't that reliable. However I never tried the stupid expensive ones. I just bought 2 Ebo-Jager's for my new build and now you have me worried, lol.

ViaAqua titanium heater with a probe and controller built in is what I use.

They've been in the sump mostly for the last seven or eight years....so are you saying I should stick with them then? :mrgreen:

What percentage of the heater is below water level?

Have two 200 watt jagers for sale with about a month's use on them each. Downsizing, pm me if interested

If a $25-$50 heater can last you 5-7 years, I think you are doing pretty good, IMO. In this hobby, that's good value.
