Swimming worms!!!! First for me!
 

I'm a pretty smart guy. But tonight I saw a first. Some sort of bug I've never seen before. Small, about 1/4 inch worm swimming in the water. I was waiting for my moonlight to come on, and it noticed all this debrit in the water glowing in the moonlight, so I flashed a light on it and there where about 50 or more of these small worms, swimming up to the light and then getting blown away by one of my powerhead. The had no legs or anything just a short small worm. I don't have a cammera, which sucks. But does anyone have any ideas. Tanks doing great so I'm not to worried.

I discoverd a similar animal as well.. two actualy, one a white worm 1/4" in length and a smaller red one about 1/16" so tiny you could easily miss it. Again it was attracted to my small flash light I was using to feed my Sun Coral.

Was really weird.. As soon as I moved the light far enough away they would float to the bottom and just do normal stuff then if I bring the light back.. boom! crazy swimming at the light.. They would follow it everywhere..

Anyways.. I don't see any harm in it so far.. so.. let em be I think.

I don't see the connection... Inexperience with swimming worms maybe, but...

I've heard that bristleworm larvae swim. Not able to confirm for certain though.

I get spaghetti worms swimming, climbing on the glass and rocks once and a while. pretty sad though when Brad notices it in my tank be for I do LOL :rolleyes:

Epitokes are the free swimming larvae stage of the bristleworm.

you see there Nigel if you would stop working then you could watch these litttle critters all day, and do nothing all day like i do in the army ...
