Coral rescue

At some point I found myself interested in rescuing near-death corals. This is a one of my rescued corals - rainbow lobo. I bought it about six month ago and it was just a skeleton with a little bit of flesh left. Unfortunately I don't have "before" picture, but this is how it looks now.

Please share if you have also rescued corals from near-death.

once had an acan that almost died and when it came back was way more multicolored and cooler looking. Is there a term or explanation for this?
