Brown Hydroids

I've got these little bastards growing in my tank all of the sudden.

they look like little feather dusters.

Anyone know what the best way to remove them is? I've been dipping all the frags i can get out in Coral RX.

Is there anything that'll eat these?

Those things r a pita. Iv had some success with aptasia x. But thats 50/50

I had some in my first tank, pulled the affected rock out and tried to burn the hydroids off, fire lots of fire.... They all survived. I don't think Coral RX will cut it.... Getting rid of the rock they were on helped in my case.

I have had those. I agree, they are a pita to remove.
Also tried the fire trick. Took rock out and burned them with a propane torch. This never killed them all, would always come back. I think too much water in the rock keeps the roots alive,
I also got rid of the rock, dried it out, and its still dry, not knowing what to do with it.
I had another rock that had 3 hydroids on it. I took a large syringe, one about an inch in diameter, and filled it with boiling water. I had to do that about 3 times and they never came back.
I don't understand why that worked.

Worst.

Denny (Reefwars) shut down his whole system and did a redo because of these nasty little things.

My vote is buy $50 work of epoxy and smother EVERYTHING, after a couple of days take it off and you should be okay.

it seems to have a tube.

That looks more like a feather duster to me, I have a few of those in my tank that don't seem to bother anything.

Hard to tell what that is in that picture.
If it's just 1 and you're not sure what it is, break out the superglue and smother the thing, then cover the area and the super glue in epoxy.
These were mine
