Chemiclean???

I had a couple of small patches of cyano that drove me nuts. So I dosed with chemiclean. Tank volume is approx 300G. I've changed 60G and skimmer still can't be turned on. How long was it for the several of you that's used it before the skimmer settled down? Thanks

I usually plan to sit with the skimmer, a tube in the cup into a bucket......it's a process.

My skimmer was off for about a week and did 2 45% water changes in that time

put your cup on loose so water can spill out below it. I did this and it allowed me to get skimming much sooner. i gradually seated the cup better as more of it was skimmed out.

When I used chemiclean my skimmer had a hissy fit, and I had to leave the cup off for almost a week. Did 2 50% water changes, I won't use it again. I find Brightwells MB7 helps to control small patches of cyano. It was suggested to me by Walter " Reef Pilot" who has been using it for a while now, so I tried it and it does help.

Thanks guys. I'm going to try Brett's idea with the skimmer cup not screwed on. Wouldn't be so bad if salt didn't cost $74.99 at my LFS
