Bad day - RO unit apparently had water in it over the winter...
I had my 6 Stage BRS RO/DI unit in my garage over the winter in a rubbermaid tote.... not being used for the past year I assumed it was dry inside.... NOPE!! the main three canisters froze and exploded...

Thats a good $300 down the drain. I just e-mailed BRS to see if they will send me some replacement canisters. But then I have to deal with their ridiculous shipping... GERRR |
I don't know from BRS ro/di units, but there is a chance they use standard cartridge containers, if so you could pick up replacements at Home Depot or some such.

What size are your clear cannisters? I'm pretty sure I have a bunch of extra kicking around that I'd be happy to give you.
|

You can definitely replace the canisters.
Come to think of it. .. I think I have sourced at least 2 replacement cannisters from Michika when mine would have little incidents of one kind or another. Just how many of them are you sitting on ??? Not that I'm complaining because .. you know .. thank you ... and stuff ... |
Is there a common size for these things?
Mine looks to be 10" X 4.5" http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c3...ps8xxopf7z.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c3...psg94ojjnb.jpg |
Sorry to hear about your incident...If you cannot find them anywhere I am sure I could order a couple for you and be here within couple days, let me know.

just go into any store that sells water filtration equipment, should be about 5 bucks or so for each housing.
one point, your membrains should be kept wet when not in use, if they dry out they will need to be replaced, so I always store my RO unit inside and full of water, but I use mine year round also. Steve |
