Silicone - How much is actually needed
So I have a random thought, I'm just resealing a tank and after cutting the corner bead out i figured id try something and i filled the tank back up, its still water tight there are no bubbles in the silicone that is between the two pieces of glass leading me to believe its still a strong bond, i didn't see anything moving or looking stressed so now i have to ask... dose anyone know just how much silicone is actually needed at the minimum to hold a tank together?

The bond is actually between the glass itself , not the excess bead outside of the glass connections. I have seen tanks with all beads cut off without issue. And they look very clean looking.

That's pretty much how the ELOS tanks are built.
