My new Tank.

Hi everyones,

Over the last year I've been reading your forums and, thanks to the vast knowledge of the members i've been able to gather much information to decide to start my own piece of ocean. Started a year ago with a 20 gals (nano) and it has been up and running ever since and doing well. So I decided to upgrade to a 60 gals with sumps. Wow!! what a better space for my animals. Here are the new setup going through its cycling (4 days old) . Can't wait to move everyone into it. Feedback would be nice, your tought of the aquascaping etc.... Will be adding a few more rocks at the back of the leftside in the near future.

Thanks to Ocean Aquatics for the wonderful LR.

Thank you,

Harold

Harold,
Looks great. I see two things worth mentioning. I have a ES6-3, and I think your skimmer might be in too much water, Euroreef recomends 6-8" of water. I had mine at about 10 inches and built a platform for it. It seems to have made a difference. Not sure how deep you are there but it apears that you may want to do the same thing. The second is the overall depth of water in the sump. It is hard to tell with a picture, but you want to make sure that when the power goes off your main tank doesn't siphon down so much as to overflow the sump onto the floor.
Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Al

Nice open structure. Should stay cleaner that way and give the fish room to swim. Nice overall set-up also.

Thanks you all for the nice comments.

Sleeman, thanks for the info about ES6-3, will look into that, and yes I did a check about the overflow and everything is all right in that department.

Cheers.

Topreef,
Great, would hate to see the sump overflow. If you look in the little book that came with your skimmer, it should be written in there. If not I can try to find my book and scan it for you.

Cheers,

Al
