Zoas problem!!

I have been having a problem keeping zoas in my 29 biocube. Put in a led retrofit kit 3 months or so.

When I introduce the zoas they never seem to full open up and start to melt away ... Any suggestions?

Thanks

my first guess would be high phosphates?

Will need to test for it, if so how can I lower it?

lots of water changes maybe a couple nice large changes, GFO,carbon dosing, usually caused by over feeding and/or livestock dying. I belive you want to keep it at about 0.02 or lower

Sounds like to much light to me. Try moving them to a shaded area and see if they open. My guess is they will

One plus on the to much light deep water ZOA's that get to much will melt have lost a few colony's that way

I agree. If all other parameters are in check its a very good possibility the light is to strong for them to take if you are not acclimating them to your lighting. Your lighting could have much more intensity then where your getting them from. I would try as was suggested first and see how that works.
