Rgb light strips

Hey I was looking to add some different color to my tank, I have a DIY 30 led light on it now, and was want to buy one of those rgb light strips. What's the best/brightest one to get? Like 50/50 smd or what? Thanks alot

Costco Specials...

For the money you can really beat these for adding a little color. Price says 46.99 buit in store i believe they are 39.99. and if they dont work for your tank they are fun to have around the house.

If you have an eBay account they can be purchased for cheaper and shipped for $2 from china, just select with 24 key ir remote and power supply. To answer your question about brightest, not sure. The 5050 means 5.0mm x 5.0mm there is a 6.0mm x something as well. They can be cut and soldered every 3 LEDs. And waterproof, which I'd make sure to get using over a tank
$25 all in or less if you search or bid on an auction listing. They worked for me on a 20 gallon tank as accent lighting but not bright enough to be used alone IMO

I'm using two lengths of SMD 5050 waterproof LED strips to supplement my DIY 10 watt multi-chip fixture. Works great as supplemental and dawn/dusk lighting. Ordered quite a few of the 5 meter reals thru eBay now with free shipping. Looks like the reels are now available for a reasonable price thru Costco. If you're not in a big rush & can wait for the eBay free shipping option, it's the best bang for your buck.

I've also ordered the lower power 3528 SMDs & higher power 5630 SMDs. The RGB versions with remote work a little differently between the 3528 & 5050 strips due to the arrangement of the 3 colours. RGB and/or single colour 5050s are probably the best bet for our application. The 5630s do not appear to be available as RGBs at this time, only a single colour of your choice. They are much brighter than the 5050s though.

Thanks

I'm mostly trying to add purple and blue to the tank as my white LEDs in my DIY fixture are 6500k and very bright.
