Tank Top
 

So I have a 54g corner tank and I was hoping some of you might have some suggestions on how to cover the top so fish don't jump out. I thought about a screen top but the top of the tank is a strange shape not sure I could get it to look clean. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Don't know what you have for a fixture so this may not help

I didn't want mesh so built a pseudo canopy
It sits on top of the tank and the suspended light just 'rests' on top of it
There's peel and stick weather stripping between all contact points

It was built to keep light bleed out of our eyes and stops carpet surfing

Get a few pieces of wood n build a canopy. Looks clean and easy. Or go ghetto fab n use a net lol

That's a tricky shape - didn't think it was a bowfront


Maybe some eggcrate covered in fibreglass bug screen, and a couple weights on top to keep jumpers from lifting it when they launch

I've had wrasses jump hard enough to lift the eggcrate, and small fish can easily fit through the holes

My preference for tops is always lexan (1/16" material). Easy to cut and shape with tinsmith snips, easily drilled, can be bent and formed for rigidity (unlike acrylic), and excellent light transmission.

Where do you get your lexan? Home depot has 3/32" material but its like $100 a sheet. Little more then I want to spend on a tank cover.

you also want gas exchange.for me i like to have a canopy;hides everything and no light pollution.it's not too hard to make a curved canopy,but you have to think of access for feeding and cleaning/water changes
