Canada's own glass sponge reefs

This has nothing to do with the reefs we keep in our aquariums but the reefs in Canada's own waters. Canada (BC specifically) is home to the worlds only reef of glass sponge (Previously it was thought that all glass sponges were extinct).

Ran across this wonderful video on the Madreporite (a wonderful Science blog written by those who've passed through the Bamfiled Marine Sciences Center. I strongly encourage all of those interested in Canadian marine science to check it out here: http://bmscblog.wordpress.com/)

Okay, enough plugging for my Science friends. The video is here (I believe this also aired on Global TV):

PS. If someone knows how to embedded youtube videos in posts I would appreciate this knowledge.

When I was doing my Master's at UBC, we did a field trip to Bamfield Marine Sciences Center. Good times. Good times. Rough road though so quite an adventure to even get there.
