A rather simple plumbing question...
I'm wanting to order a Spears Gate Valve, but I'm unsure which size to get.
My overflow is 1" pipe - will this go into a 1" slip Spears Gate Valve? If not, what do I need to do/buy to make it fit. Thanks. |
The 1" slip valve will fit on 1" rigid PVC pipe and should be glued using PVC cement.

A gate valve is an expensive piece of pvc that usually has to be ordered. I always put unions before expensive gate valves. Unions are good to add incase of future changes, maintenance, ect. You might want to add a 1 union before the gate valve just in case.

Thanks guys. I will add the union in.
What do you think of this gate valve - it's a great price with free shipping: http://www.amazon.ca/King-Brothers-I...hu-rd_add_1_dp |

Thanks mate. That's all I need to know. At half the price, I'm ordering it.

Mork,
How quickly do you need one? You can buy a Spears 1" gate valve (threadxthread) locally from Corix for just under just $20. Check out this thread - http://www.canreef.com/vbulletin/sho...d.php?t=102536 Sure beats having to wait weeks. Good luck! |
Byee - that's great. Looks like I'm off to Corix.
|
Great idea! It's a Spears gate valve. Same ones being sold at LFS.
