Shutting off circulation pumps during feeding

Is it a waste of time to shut of circulation pumps/powerheads during feeding? I doing my final wiring and I need to plan ahead.

It sucks to have to do that.

My newest tank has some good flow and my first feedings went overflowing. Since then, I found out the spot to put the food into so it stays in the tank longer. Some in the overflow just feeds the sump.

thats why i like my wavemaster cuz it has a 10min feed button.

So depending on the flow in the tank I will or won't have to shut of the circulation?
