sponge they love Kenyan tree coral for some reason , harmless

I couldn't say for sure, but I bet it's probably because the coral is non-toxic to the sponge and it will inflate during the day, blocking most of the light (which those sponges seem to hate), but deflate during the night exposing the sponge to good water flow.
