Calcium reactor

Does any one still use a calcium reactor ?
Any pros cons to using one / not using one ?

apexifd 12-18-2013 10:06 PM

I am using it.

pros?? everthing.

cons?? higher initial cost.

it's alot easier to set up a calcium reactor with a ph controller. It's not only replenish your big 3, but it also provides trace mineral as well.

I went from ghl 3 pump doser to a calcium reactor I love it less work then dosing for me.

I was looking through the life reef site and they have a nano cal reactor
I'm trying to automate my system as much as possible as I'm away from home a lot

Without a calcium reactor, I'd likely shut my tank down.

Agreed. One of the most critical pieces of equipment I have.

Yup. I have a reactor being built also. Used one many moons ago and was happy with it so going back to one.

+ 1 to all of the above. It took a while to dial it in but worth it.

Calcium reactor

I'm running a schuran pico calcium reactor that's controlled by my apex and I love it, I was dosing manually every 2 days and a haven't had to dose since I put it on

All I have left to do is get some zeomag for it now
