Chemiclean Tips

Have some cyano patches. Read the instructions on the chemiclean package and seems straight forward. Removed carbon and protein skimmer off.

1) Shoud I suck out as much cyano as possible before adding chemicals?
2) GFO? Can I leave it running?
3) Zeolite reactor? On or off?
4) Turkey baste areas I can't vacuum out or don't disturb it?
5) Two vortechs at 100% enough for surface oxygenation? Don't have an air stone.

Thanks.

Suck out as much as possible, do it after the first day after adding, it will be loose. Yes turkey baste helps! Get EVERYTHING last bit of it you can.

GFO should be fine.

ZEOvit unaffected, leave it running (I run Zeovit and have used chemiclean a couple times last year)

Best bet for aeration is to take the top off your skimmer and let it overflow. I would recommend leaving your vortech's as normal so your fish are least stressed.

Skimmer will be skimming very wet after for several days. It will pass :) make sure carbon is out during and you put fresh carbon after.

And no need to turn off the skimmer; just detach the cup and let the skimmer overflow into the sump. That way, you don't have to worry about oxygen (guessing you have in-sump skimmer).
